Departure of Dr. Anne Magnan, General Manager

Montréal, May 31, 2021 – Dr. Jacques G. Bergeron, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Québec Physicians’ Health Program (QPHP), has announced the decision of Dr. Anne Magnan, the director of the organization, to step down from her duties as of May 31, after more than 20 years of loyal service.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, employees, and physician advisors, I would like to thank Dr. Magnan for her significant contribution to the development and impact of the QPHP,” Dr. Bergeron said. “Under her leadership, through her determination and commitment, the Program has become a model in physician health and peer support. Dr. Magnan leaves behind a stable organization and a seasoned team ready to pursue its mission. In the current context of the pandemic and the growing challenges in physician health and wellness, the QPHP remains more relevant than ever,” he added.

“Although my decision to leave the Program was difficult, it was long considered and motivated by the desire to start a new chapter in my professional life. I would like to thank the employees, the physician advisors, and all our partners who have believed in and supported the QPHP’s mission over the years. Physician health is now a top priority in the medical community. I am proud of how far we have come, and I leave with a sense of accomplishment,” Dr. Magnan said.

The QPHP Board of Directors has begun the recruitment process to fill the position. An interim general manager will hold the position until the next director is appointed.
